My Prayer
I have no idea where I am going. I cannot see the road ahead of me. I do not know for certain where it would end. I do not know myself. I want to follow Your will but I do not. Even when I think I am following Your will, does not mean I actually am. However I do believe that the desire to please You does actually please You, and I hope that I will not act apart from this desire. If I do this I hope You will lead me by the right road, even though I do not know the end. This I will always trust even when I am lost and in the shadow of Death. I will not fear for You are with me and will never leave me to face my perils alone. Amen. adapted from 'A Prayer' from Thomas Merton
